This 8 week business course is designed to help you gain the entrepreneurial mindset and relevant skills it takes to successfully launch and grow your business while building a regional network of entrepreneurs you can turn to for advice and support.

Overview
We’ve partnered with the City of Champaign to bring you all the necessary tools you need to launch and/or grow your business. Completion of this 8 week training course ends with an one-on-one exit consultation with Serial Entrepreneur, Mariah Madison.
Together we will complete an assessment of your business to determine areas of strengths, and most importantly, the areas where you need additional help. The results of the assessment will be reported to the City of Champaign where they will provide additional referrals for resources or provide resources if available to assist individual businesses with additional identified needs from the assessment. The list of additional recommended supports may include but not be limited to:

Learning Path
Understanding the role of a small business and what it takes to run a small business. Business
concepts including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, assets, liabilities, and net
worth.
Business structures and tax implications. Reasons to own (and not to own) a small business and different methods of ownership.
This course is designed to ensure participants craft an idea that is valuable to their region and business category and craft a mission statement that reflects their purpose to guide future decisions.
Defining your role in the company and outlining job responsibilities with emphasis on future employment. Choosing what you can delegate and conducting time/cost assessments.
Perform SWOT analysis to understand opportunities and risk associated with business plan. A mechanism to develop effective competitive strategies in your target market and understand what gives your company an advantage over its competitors.
Understanding your customer and how best to create your business process and marketing. Gender, age, income, location, marital status, number of children, education, housing situation, and the reasons they may want your product service.
Understand the role of OM and learn skills to address important aspects of business operations including capacity, productivity, quality, and supply chain.
